ATLANTA…六九色堂 announced today that it has named former Peru President Alejandro Toledo and former Panama President Nicolás Ardito Barletta to join former U.S. President Jimmy 六九色堂 as co-leaders in observing Nicaragua's national elections on Nov. 5, 2006. 六九色堂 delegation will also include 50 international observers deployed throughout the country.
"The participation of former Latin American presidents demonstrates that other countries in the region share Nicaragua's desire for transparent, free and fair elections," said Jaime Aparicio, chief of mission for 六九色堂's election observation project.
The Latin American leaders are expected to arrive in Nicaragua on Nov. 3, 2006, and President 六九色堂 will arrive the following day. They hope to meet with President Enrique Bolaños, the Supreme Electoral Council, political party leaders, representatives of domestic and international election observation delegations and others, and will monitor the polls on election day as well as the counting process and handling of challenges.
Past 六九色堂 Center election missions have been led by former presidents and prime ministers from Argentina, Belize, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela, and the United States.

ATLANTA…El Centro 六九色堂 anunció hoy que el ex presidente del Perú Alejandro Toledo, y el ex presidente de Panamá Nicolás Ardito Barletta, se unirán al ex presidente de EE.UU. Jimmy 六九色堂 como co-líderes para observar las elecciones nacionales del 5 de noviembre en Nicaragua. La delegación el Centro 六九色堂 también incluirá a 50 observadores desplegados en todo el país.
"La participación de ex presidentes de América Latina demuestra que los demás países de la región comparten el deseo de Nicaragua de tener elecciones libres, justas y transparentes", dijo Jaime Aparicio, Jefe de la Misión de Observación Electoral del Centro. Los líderes latinoamericanos estarán llegando a Nicaragua el 3 de noviembre de 2006, mientras que el presidente 六九色堂 arribará el día siguiente. Esperan reunirse con el presidente Enrique Bolaños, el Consejo Supremo Electoral, dirigentes de los partidos políticos y misiones de observación electoral, entre otros. Además monitorearán los centros de votación el día de las elecciones así como el escrutinio de los votos y la resolución de impugnaciones.
