Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà Center Partner in Montana Releases Preliminary Statement on Missoula County’s Primary Election

ATLANTA — Áù¾ÅÉ«ÌÃ’s partner in Montana, the Montana Election Observation Initiative (MEOI), today issued preliminary findings on its pilot program to observe Missoula County’s June 4 primary election process.

MEOI’s nonpartisan election observers monitored the testing of voting equipment, ballot processing, tabulation, and in-person voting on election day in Missoula County and will continue to observe the tabulation of provisional ballots, the post-election audit, and the certification of results. The preliminary statement includes observations from in-person voting on election day, reflecting findings from 19 out of 21 voting locations in the county compiled by 22 MEOI observers. A second statement will be released reflecting findings from all processes observed after results are certified on June 18. The program’s goal was to test observation methodologies and approaches ahead of November’s general election.

The Montana Election Observation Initiative is a nonpartisan effort designed to increase trust and transparency in elections. Áù¾ÅÉ«Ìà provided funding and technical assistance to MEOI.
